Each month, PS Plus subscribers gain access to free games from the PS5 generation console all the way down to the PS1, depending on which tier they are subscribed to, each of which they can add to their library and then play at any time, so long as they download said games before the next month’s lineup comes along or the games are removed from the PS Plus catalog. While PS Plus’ Essential offerings have been lackluster for quite some time now, many subscribers likely still hope against hope that their favorite titles will be added to the service, or those they have wanted to play but haven’t wanted to dish out the money for.

Now that January 2025 is coming to an end, so too are its PS Plus Essential games. However, that also means February 2025’s PS Plus titles are just around the corner. As per usual, next month’s PS Plus Essential titles will be announced on the last Wednesday of the current month (January 29), after which they will be made available on the following Tuesday (February 4). As such, while these games have yet to be revealed, there are several titles that would make excellent additions to the lineup, based on current trends and upcoming titles.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 making its way to PS Plus Essential in February 2025 is definitely more of a dream than it is a practical hope, but there is nonetheless a justifiable reason to wish for the sequel to one of the best superhero games ever made to be added to the service. While its story has been rather divisive among fans, it still succeeds at refining the combat and traversal of the first game, to the point that going back to play the first Marvel’s Spider-Man can feel like somewhat of a slog at times. So long as players are able to appreciate the direction of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2‘s story, particularly in its portrayal of Venom and the continued arc of Peter Parker, the sequel would make a worthy addition to PS Plus in February 2025.

PS Plus Wish List for February 2025: Kingdom Come: Deliverance

While it is still a rather niche game due to its realistic and somewhat inaccessible approach to gameplay, Kingdom Come: Deliverance would be a great addition to February 2025’s PS Plus lineup, simply on account of the release of its sequel on February 4. More or less, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a medieval sim that puts players smack-dab in the middle of the history of that time, and while its combat and other systems have been acknowledged as a bit too challenging at times, its embrace of realism is a key part of its charm and the quality that makes it unique in the RPG genre. It isn’t required reading for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, as the sequel is a standalone experience that could be considered more of a remake than anything else. However, those who would like to get a glimpse of the sequel before shelling out money for it could benefit from Kingdom Come: Deliverance being added to PS Plus Essential in February 2025.

Like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is yet another sequel that proved to be rather divisive after its release. Even so, its refined gameplay and expanded exploration make it an experience worth having, especially for Star Wars fans. Since the Star Wars Jedi series has largely gone radio silent since the release of Jedi: Survivor, February 2025 might be a good time for it to be added to PS Plus Essential, simply to keep the series on everyone’s radar until the third installment arrives, if nothing else. Finally, due to its rocky launch, many fans might have either given up on it quickly or never picked it up, so if it were added to PS Plus in February, they might have a chance to rectify that.

Something for Every Generation

There are several games that would make great additions to PS Plus in February 2025, especially considering current trends and upcoming releases. These include:

  • PS5: The arrival of Hogwarts Legacy on PS Plus has arguably needed to happen for some time now, and with a sequel currently in the works, February 2025 might be a good month for those who haven’t experienced it yet to get some quality time with it.
  • PS4: Atomic Heart and its BioShock-like qualities make it a great fit for PS Plus in February 2025, considering the fact that both BioShock 4 and Judas are on the horizon.
  • PS3: One of the best games on the PS3 (if not the best game) is undoubtedly Grand Theft Auto 4, and with Grand Theft Auto 6 expected to launch this year, the fourth entry would be perfect for PS Plus Extra and Premium in February 2025.
  • PSP: Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions might also be a great pick for February 2025’s PS Plus Extra and Premium games, especially in light of the rumors surrounding a potential Final Fantasy Tactics remake.
  • PS2: Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 is often regarded as the best PS2 game ever made, so there’s little reason why it shouldn’t be added to the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog in February 2025.
  • PS1: Finally, Chrono Cross is a classic PS1 game, and a great one at that, so it would likely be welcomed with open arms if it were added to PS Plus in February 2025.
