Honkai: Star Rail – Memory Crystal Shard Locations in Amphoreus

Memory Crystal Shard is a limited currency in Honkai: Star Rail and can only be obtained by exploring Amphoreus. Currently, this currency only has two uses: it can be spent on buying items in Janus’ Steed and offering to Garmentmaker to locate Creation Nymphs in respective sub-areas of Amphoreus.

Trailblazers can collect Memory Crystal Shards by exploring Amphoreus, talking to certain NPCs, completing puzzles, and other interactions in Honkai: Star Rail.

How to Get the Memory Crystal Shard in Honkai: Star Rail

Memory Crystal Shard is a currency that was hidden in various interactions in Honkai: Star Rail and players can only find them by exploring Amphoreus as the game will not provide any hint. The only tutorial provided is that Trailblazers may obtain this crystal by investigating an item and talking to certain NPCs.

In fact, there are other methods to obtain the Memory Crystal Shard, such as interacting with the Strange Crystal in the private chamber and completing various Side Missions in Honkai: Star Rail.

Interact with the Strange Crystal inside the Private Bathroom Chamber

There are many Fragment of Recollection in Amphoreus, but the one inside the player’s private room is special. Interacting with them will give 10 Memory Crystal Shard and it refreshes weekly. This method is the most suitable for players who lack time to explore the new area but still want to collect the crystal shard for their use.

Help the Living Flames of Georios

Living Flames of Georios is a small floating torch scattered throughout Amphoreus. There are a total of 8 of them in “Eternal Holy City” Okhema, and by fulfilling their wish, players will get certain prizes, with the first time rewarding a Memory Crystal Shard. If players manage to find 8 of the living flames, they will get the ‘Philosopher’ achievement.

Investigate a Holy Candle

Another interaction that will provide a Memory Crystal Shard for the first time is with the Holy Candle. Up to 8 Holy Candle can be found in “Eternal Holy City” Okhema and once players investigate one of them, one crystal shard will be given as a reward. If all Holy Candles in Okhema are activated, Trailblazers will also get ‘Hermit Crab’ achievement.

Break the Circular Ornament in “Eternal Holy City” Okhema

4 circular ornaments are located in different areas of “Eternal Holy City” Okhema. By interacting with at least one of them for the first time, it will reward players with a Memory Crystal Shard. If they manage to find all 4 and break the ornaments without fixing it, Trailblazers will also get the ‘Destroying the Rights of Statues’ achievement.

Complete Verax Leo’s Quiz

Verax Leo is a lion statue placed in certain parts of “Eternal Holy City” Okhema. Trailblazers who interact with the monument will be asked a question and will be given rewards for those who answer it correctly. For the first time of answering their quiz, Trailblazers will get a Memory Crystal Shard. There are 8 Verax Leo statue in Okhema and if players manage to answer all their quizzes, they can get the ‘Lightwalker’ achievement.

Listen to the Water Lyre

An open bath can be seen south of Civilian Bathhouse and there is an activity that allows players to get the Memory Crystal Shard in Honkai: Star Rail for free. Go on top of the elevated stage and there will be an option to listen to the water lyre. After the first try, Trailblazers will get one crystal shard.

Perform a Prayer Ritual

Trailblazers can perform a prayer ritual in Amphoreus by interacting with one of the many prayer basins. After successfully doing it for the first time, they can get a Memory Crystal Shard. There are 4 such basins in “Eternal Holy City” Okhema and if players manage to activate the prayer ritual to get the right sigils, they will also get the ‘Chirping Secret: Golden Journey’ achievement.

Ride a Dromas

Dromas is a special animal that can only be seen in Amphoreus. The developers provide a new experience in Honkai: Star Rail by allowing players to ride on top of Dromas. Trailblazers can summon a Dromas by using a bell at any Dromas station in Okhema, and once the ride has arrived, they can choose the option to get on top of the animal. After the first try of the new ride, players will get 1 Memory Crystal Shard as a reward.

Consume an Ambrosia

A unique drink called Ambrosia can be obtained from Bacchus in the Court of Season for free. Random incidents will occur after players drink it and select the dialogue option provided by the game. Drink Ambrosia for the first time and players will get a crystal shard. If Trailblazers managed to trigger all special intoxication incidents, they can unlock many achievements, such as ‘We Sit on the Ground,’ ‘The Bro Sleeping On the Top Bunk​​​​​​,’ and ‘Moonlight in a Bottle.’

Completing Side Missions

There are a lot of Side Missions in Amphoreus, and each one of them will provide players with 2 or 5 Memory Crystal Shards. Here’s a list of all quests that can be completed in version 3.0 that will provide the crystal shard:

1. Contradiction
2. Disjointed Memories
3. Disquieting Dream
4. Elsewhere
5. I Once Was In Arcadia
6. Love in the Time of Black Tide
7. Secret Ceremony
8. The Girl, the Coins and Homeland
9. Whereto Shall We Go

The remaining quests such as ‘Chirping Secret’ and ‘Searching for You’ do not give any Memory Crystal Shards, but still reward players with Stellar Jades.

Interact with Certain Amphoreus NPCs

Certain NPCs in Amphoreus also grant Memory Crystal Shard upon first interaction with players. Three of the notable NPCs are Demetria and Kyros in Marmoreal Market and Xenia, the Bath Receptionist near the Overflowing Bath Space Anchor. Of course, it doesn’t come free. Trailblazers need to buy something from them before they can get the crystal shard.

1. Teleport to Marmoreal Market Space Anchor and head west to the Fruit and Veg Store.
2. From the previous spot, look to the east for Kyros, the Restaurant Owner
3. Next, teleport to the Overflowing Bath Space Anchor and go to the receptionist at the center.

Talk to the Flame-Chaser Heroes

NPCs are not the only people who will reward Trailblazers with the Memory Crystal Shard. The Flame-Chaser Heroes can also be seen around the “Eternal Holy City” Okhema after completing the Trailblaze Mission in Amphoreus. By talking to each of them, players will get one crystal shard.

1. Teleport to Marmoreal Market Space Anchor and head to the rooftop to find Mydei.
2. Use the Hall of Respite Space Anchor and go to the open bath on the south for Castorice.
3. Next, go to Hero’s Bath Space Anchor and look for Aglaea on the second level of the bath.
4. Lastly, warp to Garden of Life Space Anchor as Tribbie can be found on the northwest of the garden.

How to Use the Memory Crystal Shard in Honkai: Star Rail

Currently, in Honkai: Star Rail version 3.0, there are only 2 uses for Memory Crystal Shard: to buy an item from Janus’ Steed and offer it to the Garmentmaker to mark out the location of Creation Nymph. Janus’ Steed is located near the Court of Seasons Space Anchor in “Eternal Holy City” Okhema and sells many records and recipes. On the other hand, the Garmentmakers’ locations are different based on the sub-areas, but the butterfly icon on the map is hard to miss, so players won’t have a hard time finding it.

The leftover Memory Crystal Shards in the inventory can then be saved for future use when players enter the next version of Honkai: Star Rail.
