A Japanese Pokemon TCG Pocket player has hit the daily spending limit each day since the title’s release on October 30, 2024. One of the most popular mobile games of 2024, Pokemon TCG Pocket was downloaded over 10 million times within the first two days of its release on iOS and Android devices.
Players continue to flock to the newest Pokemon mobile game daily, eager to add more cards to their Pokedex and earn rewards by winning battles against friends and other trainers around the world. On January 20, the developers announced that a free Pokedex card in Pokemon TCG Pocket will be available to all players until April 30 to celebrate 40 billion card acquisitions in total since the game’s release. As with other popular gacha titles, the majority of players tend to keep their spending to a minimum, though a few outliers will typically go to great lengths to snag everything they can in-game.

Pokemon TCG Pocket players are concerned about the new trading feature details, and the development team has issued its reply.
Hajime Syacho, a popular Japanese YouTuber boasting over 15 million subscribers on his main channel, recently revealed that he has hit the daily spending limit in Pokemon TCG Pocket since launch day. This amounts to around 1.12 million yen (approximately $7,200) spent so far, which equates to 50,000 cards. While players who subscribe to Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s Premium Pass can open an extra booster pack each day and win additional rewards, it’s also possible to purchase up to 720 Poke Gold each day, which can be used to purchase exclusive goods and gain access to more cards. Some players in the comments noted that, without spending any money at all, they had only been able to amass between 1,000 and 1,300 cards since the game’s launch in late 2024.
Japanese YouTuber Amasses 50,000 Cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket
Pokemon TCG Pocket continues to roll out unique events for players, with the Blastoise Wonder Pick event underway until January 22. The most recent update made to the game also triggered the return of the Mythical Island SP Emblem event, which divided the fanbase, as many believe that having to win consecutive battles is too frustrating and time-consuming for the rewards on offer. Additionally, certain cards will be able to be traded starting in January, with the feature gradually expanding over time.
Pokemania has returned to the world in a big way, from the continued popularity of Pokemon TCG Pocket to the return of Pokemon cards to McDonald’s Happy Meals in the US. Fans are eagerly awaiting news of the next major entry in the franchise, with many postulating that the upcoming game Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2.
