What is GAAAT Gallery and Why Collaborate With BLEACH?
A Japanese Art Brand Collaborates With A Highly Artistic Anime
GAAAT Gallery is a Japanese art brand that is focused on “crafting new experiences with art & technology”, and one of the ways they do this is through something they call “metal canvas art” (MCA). GAAAT describes MCA as follows:
MCA is a new art experience proposed by GAAAT. Each piece of metal canvas art is carefully handcrafted by expert artisans to provide a unique immersive experience that accentuates the three-dimensionality of the artwork while possessing the weight and beauty of metal materials. In addition, it offers superior durability, resisting sunlight and humidity, allowing its beauty to be enjoyed over a long period of time.
The artworks are created through an intensive layering process in which 32 layers of ink that creates a tactile experience due to the “subtle unevenness” of the layers, giving the piece a sense of three-dimensionality. Each artwork is done in a pop-art kind of style that fits with the aesthetic found in both Tite Kubo’s original manga and the highly celebrated Thousand-Year Blood War adaptation that is now nearing its conclusion. Two of the pieces, the ones titled “KISEKI”, feature images of Ichigo and Uryū that are created from a mosaic of various images from the series. The metal canvas artworks come with a certificate of authenticity, and while this might be an enticing opportunity to get some interesting BLEACH merchandise for the anime’s international audience, the art collection is only available in the US.
