Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!
With its unique satirical approach to the isekai genre, The Eminence in Shadow is also the finest example of a protagonist using his modern knowledge in a fantasy world. Much to Cid’s chagrin though, he didn’t have the vision to construct an empire using these skills, filling his pockets in the process.
But, the Seven Shadows, his faithful pseudo-harem members, founded the Mitsugoshi Company using all the crazy tales Cid told them using his knowledge from his previous life. This led to the creation of the biggest mercantile emporium in the Kingdom as well as some crazy and funny situations. But above all else, its artwork, incredible combat scenes, and great story flow make it serious enough to be one of the most popular isekai anime.

In Ascendance of a Bookworm, Myne (formerly Urano Motosu) is an advantaged and smart girl with deep linguistic knowledge and an expert mathematician. Her passion for books and stories gives her impulse, and the knowledge from her past life as a librarian and college graduate allows her to skillfully maneuver through the most complex of scriptures, as well as the finer arts and accounting.
The power of her mind is the most valuable tool in this fantasy world where sword and sorcery are commonplace, and she makes use of them with extreme prejudice. While this story is low stakes and doesn’t have as much action as other isekai series, its endearing friendship moments and quirky characters put it above some of its peers.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!
As the main character of this story, Kazuma Satou leaves no room for improvement. Seriously, he is one of the lamest of them all, but that doesn’t make him any less smart and resourceful when he sets his mind to his favorite activity: lazing around. This series has some incredible moments, some endearing, and some outright whacky. Most of it involves some of Kazuma’s friends (or himself) doing something so terrible that they end up paying reparations to the kingdom.
When his party was severely suffering from economic loss due to the rampage of its most impulsive party members, Kazuma created a plan to earn absurd amounts of money without having to risk his neck adventuring. And so, using the knowledge from his past life, he created a series of products, allying himself with the demon Vanir to make ludicrous amounts of gold.

In How A Realist Hero Rebuilt The Kingdom, Kazuya Souma is summoned to another world to be the king no less. Instead of a hero, they brought someone with modern-times knowledge and capable enough to lead a nation.
Then why pick up a random college student from Japan? According to the story, the Elfrieden Kingdom needed someone young enough to marry the princess, but smart enough not to become a tyrant. So they got just what they asked for: a smart, capable, dependable, and brilliant student with the airs of a company manager. It’s a great story that has been viciously underrated. Plus, it doesn’t involve ridiculous harem situations like in other isekai.

In terms of storytelling quality and worldbuilding, In Another World With My Smartphone is subpar at best. But, it has some good aspects that make it fit into this ranking. The series’ main character is a goofy and aloof guy, who stubbornly (and thankfully) rejects those harem vibes the anime has.
But, that doesn’t make him any less overpowered, and like with any cheat-skill user, he wields the knowledge of his past life and his smartphone (yes, that’s right) to gain the upper hand in this fantasy world. He is also heavily inspired by Squall from Final Fantasy 8 in more than one way, and that’s cool!
