World of Warcraft has revealed the Coward’s Azure Target, a new back transmog available as a Twitch Drop to celebrate the second coming of Plunderstorm. By watching four hours of any World of Warcraft streamer on Twitch from January 14 to February 4, players can add this back transmog to their piles of loot and plunder from the event.
Plunderstorm is a battle royale game mode World of Warcraft introduced in early 2024. A year later, it is bringing the piratical clash back to World of Warcraft for about a month starting January 14, featuring both old and new rewards via the Plunderstore.

However, World of Warcraft fans can get an extra in-game item without even playing Plunderstorm at all. The Coward’s Azure Target is a new back transmog that will be available as a Twitch Drop for the first three weeks of Plunderstorm. Between January 14 and February 4, players who watch four hours of any World of Warcraft streamers on Twitch can earn this item for free – regardless of whether the content creators are actually playing Plunderstorm.
How to Get World of Warcraft Plunderstorm Twitch Drop
- Fans must first connect their Battle.net and Twitch accounts via the Connections page on Twitch.
- From January 14, 10 AM PST, through February 4, 10 AM PST,, watch four hours of any Twitch streamer in the World of Warcraft category to earn the Coward’s Azure Target back transmog.
- Claim the drop from the Twitch inventory page.
- The Coward’s Azure Target should be automatically added to the Warband transmog Collections pane.
The Coward’s Azure Target is a new transmog that has not been obtainable in the game before. It is a recolor of the Coward’s Violet Target, the free reward for fans who completed their World of Warcraft Trading Post Traveler’s Log in August 2024. While players were not particularly pleased with it as a bonus from the Trading Post, few will decline the chance to earn free stuff as Twitch Drops.
Luckily, those who aren’t impressed by this Twitch Drop will have plenty of other items they can collect in World of Warcraft soon. In addition to the rewards available during Plunderstorm, the release of Patch 11.1 is right around the corner. The first major World of Warcraft: The War Within update finally adds campsites that can be used to customize the character select screen, which players have been looking forward to for a while. There will almost certainly be another new Twitch Drop to celebrate Patch 11.1 as well, so fans will have to wait and see what other free items they can collect for their journey to Undermine.
