Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is Cutting a Smart Casting Corner
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet surprised audiences at The Game Awards 2024 as the newest IP from Naughty Dog since 2013’s The Last of Us. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is poised to be a strong addition to the studio’s repertoire, including successful franchises like Crash Bandicoot and Uncharted. Notably, the emotional, character-driven epic is already making strategic marketing moves despite its release window being vaguely set for sometime in 2025.
The trailer for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet didn’t reveal much gameplay-wise, but fans may recognize its protagonist, a dangerous bounty hunter named Jordan A. Mun. Designed after and played by actress Tati Gabrielle, those who watched the live-action Uncharted film in 2022 may remember her as Braddock, the psychopathic antagonist to Tom Holland’s globe-trotting Nathan Drake. If Sony and Naughty Dog wanted to eventually develop Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet into a live-action series or film, it’s already laid the groundwork for a perfect cast.

Fans Are Already Working Out Intergalactic’s Cast From The Trailer
Based on the plot details available for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet so far, it’s revealed that Jordan finds herself stranded in deep space on Sempiria. A planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark six hundred years ago, Sempiria has earned a notorious reputation: anyone who ventures there is never seen again. Screencaps from the trailer highlight newspaper clippings featuring the Five Aces and the “Five Aces Mastermind,” who is believed to be either dead or in hiding. This mastermind is likely Jordan, with the Five Aces being her crew, who seem to have been involved in robbing a safety deposit ship.
While Tati Gabrielle is already confirmed to be headlining the cast, the rest of the ensemble, particularly those part of the Five Aces, has yet to be disclosed. Despite the lack of official reveals, eagle-eyed fans have already taken to guessing the Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet cast based on the group photo in the trailer. Though this information should be taken with a grain of salt, speculation has led fans to believe that the cast will be as follows:
- Tati Gabrielle
- Tony Dalton
- Kumail Nanjiani
- Stephen A. Chang
- Kelly Reilly/Jessica Chastain/Ashley Scott
The identity of the fifth actress remains heavily debated, as fans have been unable to agree on who they might be.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet Is Setting Itself Up For Live-Action Success
With a potentially star-studded cast, each will likely play a prominent part in the game. Naturally, if desired, a live-action adaptation of this Naughty Dog IP could translate perfectly with the same actors and actresses. After all, they already embody their characters with their voices and character models, and Naughty Dog has proven itself to be a live-action adaptation powerhouse throughout the past few years.
“A live-action adaptation could translate perfectly with the same actors and actresses.”
Significantly, the first season of The Last of Us received rave reviews for its casting choices, suspenseful action, and themes of survival, loss, and purpose. Similarly, Uncharted was a box-office success in 2022, becoming the fifth-highest-grossing video game film of all time. With other adaptations like Arcane, Fallout, and Like a Dragon: Yakuza gaining notable recognition, Naughty Dog is unlikely to slow down its live-action efforts anytime soon. Fortunately, thanks to its stellar casting choices in the game, the transition to a film or television series is already streamlined.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Propher follows Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago. In fact, anyone who’s flown to it hoping to unravel its mysterious past was never heard from again. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.
