Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Name Change for New 5-Star Character
Key Takeaways
Table of Contents
- Kimitsuki Ayano changed to Mizuki in Genshin Impact Version 5.3 for upcoming characters.
- Citlali is a Shield Support, while Mavuika is the presumed strongest Pyro hypercarry.
- Mizuki is expected to be a Standard Banner 5-Star character and needs her Signature Weapon.
The recent beta build for Version 5.3 has updated the ID list for upcoming characters in Genshin Impact, changing the name of Kimitsuki Ayano to Mizuki. While the first half of Natlan has introduced some new additions to the meta, like Xilonen and Kinich, Version 5.3 is set to cap it off with Citlali and Mavuika. The former is a Shield Support capable of buffing Melt teams, while the latter is expected to be the strongest Pyro hypercarry in Genshin Impact – albeit at a cost to team flexibility.
The second half of Natlan will start with the debut of a new Standard Banner character for Genshin Impact, who will also be its first character from Inazuma. While initially assumed to be Kimitsuki Ayano, an earlier leak mentioned a 5-Star character called Mizuki. It is assumed that she will be released in Version 5.4, though it remains to be seen if Iansan will join her on the Event Banners as a 4-Star character.

Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Rarity and Element for Ayano and Varesa
A reliable source in the Genshin Impact community reveals the element and rarity of Ayano and Varesa, with the latter also implying Iansan’s rarity.
According to HomDGCat, the name for Kimitsuki Ayano was finalized, and she will be known as Mizuki going forward. As a 5-Star Anemo character from Inazuma, Mizuki is expected to feature during a future Flagship Event in Natlan. Namely, the People of the Springs have recently been given notice that an Inazuman would open up a shop in their village. Many players assume that this is the game’s attempt to hint at Mizuki ahead of time, similarly to how Chiori in Genshin Impact was hinted at via character voice lines.

The list of upcoming characters in Genshin Impact implies that Mizuki will come immediately after Lan Yan, and that players will be able to wish for her on the Event Banners starting from February 12, 2025. However, Mizuki is expected to be a Standard 5-Star character, and as such, it would be prudent for Genshin Impact players to obtain her Signature Weapon first. As seen with Hunter’s Path and Beacon of the Reed Sea, there is no guarantee that Mizuki’s Signature Weapon will ever return outside the Chronicled Banner.
It should be noted that Genshin Impact will likely introduce a banner change in Version 5.3. Going forward, all new characters are expected to feature on the Event Banners for the full duration of a patch. Given that Mizuki is, as of now, expected to be the sole 5-Star of Version 5.4, it remains to be seen how this banner format will mesh with character reruns. Players will be able to find out more during the Special Program livestream for Version 5.3.
