The next EA Sports UFC 5 update has been confirmed to go live at 12 PM ET on November 28, adding two new fighters, making a handful of gameplay updates, and offering up some big Black Friday discounts on some in-game bundles.
To celebrate the return of a boxing legend earlier this month, EA Sports UFC 5 allowed players to get Mike Tyson at no extra cost. Now, EA is once again giving away another piece of paid DLC for free, this time with Alex Pereira’s UFC 303 alter ego. Players have until January 7, 2025 to log into EA Sports UFC 5 to claim the fighter’s variant for no additional cost. Simply head to the in-game store, navigate to Alex Pereira’s UFC 303 alter ego, and grab it before the aforementioned date.

Alongside a handful of gameplay updates, EA is once again adding two new fighters to UFC 5 with the November 28 patch. First up is Kai Asakura, who will make his UFC debut on December 7 against Flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja. The 31-year-old is the ex-Rizin Bantamweight champion and has a professional record of 21-4-0. Asakura will come with 91 accuracy, 94 footwork, and 90 clinch striking. Then there is Welterweight fighter Michael Morales, who has a perfect 17-0 record with 12 knockouts. The up-and-coming fighter will have a 93 rated chin, 94 punch power, and 89 switch stance.
But the new content doesn’t just stop at fighters, as EA has announced that Ranked Stand and Bang will also be made available with the November 28 update. The fan-favorite UFC 5 striking-only mode is expected to work similarly to the game’s standard Ranked mode, but this time players will climb their way up the leaderboards using nothing but boxing, kickboxing, and muay thai.
While rumors continue to circulate that EA Sports UFC 6 is now in development, EA isn’t slowing down on the goodies for UFC 5. To celebrate the holiday season, EA isn’t just offering up some big discounts on in-game bundles, they’re also giving away free gifts from December 1 to 31. According to the studio, players simply need to log into UFC 5 each day to receive free items from the in-game store, including vanity, XP boosters, and even alter egos.
