Table of Contents
Here’s how to complete The Rise of the Golden Idol Chapter 3, titled The Machine.
The settings in this chapter are unique, moving away from the lab and the Harmony Foundation to more random venues. Examples include an apartment building, an aviary, and a private living room. This time, however, players get to see the results of experiments with the Golden Idol, and the subjects of these tests often suffer a grim fate.
Chapter 4 only unlocks once the previous sections have already been completed. This includes the scenarios along with the texts and puzzles that close the Chapter.
Chapter 4
The Trials
- Some new information is introduced about the human experiments
Chapter 4 is one of the longer sections of TRotGI, and there’s a fair amount of new information for players to find and understand. There are four scenarios, but the advantage is that they aren’t that long or complicated, and players can still use the previous chapters for reference.

Feathered Frenzy
A Deadly Attack At The Aviary
Names
It’s recommended that the player finish this section first to make Triggers and Events easier. Most of them are the names of birds and the three people involved haven’t appeared before.
- Row 1: The Masked Grouse, The Red-Breasted Heron, The Bleary-Eyed Flower-Piercer, The Deathrattle Lory
- Row 2: Nythalic’s Herald, Declan Astor, Crystal Moore, Marcie Palmer
Triggers
This scenario starts by focusing on the birds instead of people. The solution to this puzzle can also be used to solve the Names section.
- The Deathratte Lory – Declan Astor’s body
- Nythalic’s Herald – The Deathratte Lory
- The Bleary-Eyed Flower Piercer – the yellow bracelet
- The Masked Grouse – broken eggs
Events
This is one of the longer text puzzles, but it tells the basic story of the scenario and is easy to put together once the other sections are completed.
- Paragraph 1: Marcie Palmer, cried, discovered, hatchling, overheated
- Paragraph 2: Declan Astor, bracelet, stolen, The Bleary-Eyed Flower-Piercer, Declan Astor, feed, The Masked Grouse, eggs, bush
- Paragraph 3: The Masked Grouse, attacked, Declan Astor, killing, screams, mimicked, The Deathrattle Lory, agitated, Nythalic’s Herald, attacked, Crystal Moore
The sections entitled
Symbols
and
Transfers
appear in the first scenario but can’t be completed until all four are completed.

- Row 1: Regina Littlemore, Dante Longo, Jamey Albright, Atharv Reddy
- Row 2: Vilmar Prado, Cameron Flake, Nola Rockow, Mitchell Burgin

- The Burpist
- The Ventriloquist
- The Juggler
- The Ballerina
- The Munchkin
- The Magician
Events
The Events section describes what happened just before the player entered the scene, and it’s fairly obvious once the Rankings are determined.

- Paragraph 2: Vilmar Prado, released, Lily Belle, cage, sabotage, Nola Rockow, Nola Rockow, poured, soda, trumpet
