Now, Blizzard has revealed exactly when fans can expect this update to arrive. During its recent Warcraft Direct presentation, WoW game director Ion Hazzikostas confirmed Patch 11.0.7 is launching on December 17. In addition to exploring the new zone, players will be able to experience story quests that bridge the narrative between The War Within and World of Warcraft Patch 11.1, Undermined, featuring Orweyna, the mysterious Haranir seen in the expansion’s cinematic trailer.
WoW: The War Within Patch 11.0.7 Release Date
Patch 11.0.7 also adds a slew of changes and features to the game as well. Outlaw Rogues in World of Warcraft can look forward to some glyphs that modify Pistol Shot, and all players can work towards two new meta achievements to earn some incredible mounts. What’s more, nearly a dozen playable races are getting buffs to their racial abilities, and Humans, Kul Tirans, and Worgen gain access to the pointed Arathi ear customizations.
The December 17 release date for Patch 11.0.7 didn’t come as a complete surprise. Splash screen text for the update discovered on the World of Warcraft PTR suggested the patch would drop before the Winter Veil event began. Considering the Christmas event also begins on the 17th, the text will likely be updated to compensate for the change in scheduling.
This wasn’t the only major announcement for modern WoW made at the Warcraft Direct presentation. In addition to giving fans a first look at Patch 11.1, World of Warcraft has finally confirmed player housing is coming in Midnight. It also shared 2025 roadmaps for both modern and Classic WoW, featuring Mists of Pandaria Classic, Season of Discovery’s final phase, and a new set of fresh Classic servers released just in time for the game’s 20th anniversary. Needless to say, the next year of World of Warcraft is going to be packed with content.
