Call of Duty: Black Ops 6s Packed Season 1 is a Great Sign For The Future
After last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 disappointed fans with its incredibly short campaign, lackluster open-world Zombies mode, and a multiplayer mode devoid of original maps on launch, many hoped that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 would be a return to form for the franchise. Thankfully, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is exactly that, offering the complete package at launch for the first time in years.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has delivered one of the strongest campaigns in recent Call of Duty history, has brought about the triumphant return of round-based Zombies, and has given fans a plethora of brand-new multiplayer maps to run around. There’s a ton of content in Black Ops 6, and before fans can even consider getting bored, they’re about to be bombarded with an onslaught of new content, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1 launching on November 14.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Season 1 Roadmap Is Hopefully a Sign of Things to Come
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1 Is Packed With Exciting Content
Beginning on November 14 and presumably running for around two months, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 1 is set to bring a mountain of content to all of the shooter’s main game modes. With regards to Black Ops 6‘s multiplayer, three new maps will be added to rotation on November 14, and another two new maps will be joining them later in the season. A holiday-themed variant of Nuketown will also be added during Season 1.
Three new game modes will be coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s multiplayer component during Season 1, alongside a new Hand Cannon Scorestreak, a new Perk, and a new Wildcard. A total of seven new weapons will also be added to both Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone, including two new melee weapons, an AR, an SMG, a sniper, and a shotgun.
Unlike previous entries, Call of Duty Zombies is also getting a wealth of new content during Black Ops 6‘s first season. The biggest addition will be Citadelle des Morts, an all-new map set to hit Black Ops 6 Zombies sometime during Season 1. Directed modes for Liberty Falls and Terminus will also appear during Season 1, allowing players to follow objective markers to complete the maps’ main Easter eggs. Three new Gobblegums will also be added.
Finally, there’s Call of Duty: Warzone. The new Nuketown-inspired ‘Area 99’ Resurgence map will be heading to Call of Duty: Warzone on November 14, alongside a complete overhaul of the battle royale’s mechanics, adding Black Ops 6-exclusive features like Omnimovement, new weapons, and the reworked Prestige system. And this is all just scratching the surface of Call of Duty‘s plans, with new Operators and in-game events also set for release in Season 1.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s Season 1 Roadmap Is a Step Above MW3’s
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s Season 1 roadmap looks even more impressive when directly compared with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3‘s first season, which landed in December last year. Modern Warfare 3‘s Season 1 roadmap contained just two new 6v6 multiplayer maps scheduled for launch, and just one more set to launch mid-season. Call of Duty: Warzone‘s most significant new feature was its drivable train. And Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3‘s Zombies was forgotten about completely.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Could Be An All-Time Great If It Keeps Up The Pace
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s post-launch period is off to an excellent start. Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone fans are all being catered for this season, and that’s going to go an incredibly long way in keeping players invested in the following months. If Black Ops 6‘s second season of post-launch content can offer a similar variety and abundance of content, then this year’s entry could end up being viewed as one of the best in franchise history.
