Pokemon TCG Pocket is giving away Promo Cards, and those who act quickly can unlock the entire Promo-A lineup in less than a week.
Starting on November 5, the Lapras EX Drop Event is Pokemon TCG Pocket‘s first battle-oriented limited-time event. For a chance to snag the rare card in Pokemon TCG Pocket, players will need to battle against a Lapras deck across four difficulty levels, with rewards ranging from Shop Tokens and Shinedust to single-card A Series Vol. 1 Promo Packs. Regardless of the difficulty a player chooses, these Promo Packs have the chance to appear following a victory. The probability of finding a Lapras EX in these packs has not been revealed, but many players claim that they have snagged one rather quickly. The Lapras EX Drop Event is scheduled to end on November 18.
- Lapras EX
- Butterfree
- Pikachu
- Mankey
- Clefairy
To take part in the special event, players will need to use Event Stamina. Challenging each difficulty will use one of five potential Event Stamina tokens, and once all Stamina is used, players will need to wait 12 hours to recover a single one. While many different strategies can be applied to defeat the Lapras EX deck at the Expert difficulty level, many players have reported that common cards like Zebstrika, Meowth, and Zapdos are incredibly helpful during the difficult fight. The grind will be worth it for many Pokemon TCG Pocket fans, as Lapras EX boasts 140 HP and an attack wielding a massive 80 damage costing only two water and one colorless energy.
The Pokemon franchise continues to dominate pop culture over 25 years after its initial release. From a newly announced Pokemon Monopoly game to Pokemon TCG vending machines popping up across the United States, the series shows no signs of slowing down. The next game, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, is scheduled to be released sometime in 2025, and will take players on an entirely new adventure set within Lumiose City.
