Popular streamer Asmongold has returned to Twitch following a recent ban that took him offline for two weeks. As he resumes his streaming activities on Twitch, Asmongold is taking the opportunity to reflect on his past behavior and look ahead to potential changes for his channel.
Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, gathering over 3.5 million followers on the platform. He began his career in 2009 by creating World of Warcraft videos on YouTube and created a Twitch account in 2011. Asmongold quickly rose in popularity and launched a second account, zackrawrr, on the Amazon platform. Having millions of followers never stopped Asmongold from sharing his opinion, even if it sometimes resulted in Twitch bans. During a stream on his alt account on October 14, Asmongold made a comment on Palestinians, calling them “terrible people” from an “inferior culture” and stating that he had “no sympathy” for the population. Twitch decided to ban Asmongold’s zackrawrr account for 14 days following these comments.

Asmongold Reflects on His Past Behavior
As Asmongold’s ban on Twitch is now over, the streamer began his first broadcast after the suspension by having a chat with his viewers. Asmongold addressed his past behavior, acknowledging that his previous comments were a misstep. Besides the recent comments about Palestinians, the streamer previously criticized the Esports Streamer of the Year award won by Twitch streamer Riversgg, saying that it was only given to her as a diversity pick as she is a woman. In his recent stream, Asmongold mentioned that he became the “worst version” of himself over the last few years and stated that while he wants to continue streaming the same kind of content as before, he wished to change the tone of his streams to create a more positive and fun experience for his viewers.
While away from Twitch, Asmongold decided to clean his house, a recurring theme in his streams as he often joked about the messy state of his home. Asmongold shared the progress of his cleaning project on social media, with before and after photos of his kitchen’s sink, first filled with dirty dishes and then all cleaned up. While for the average person, this picture might not seem like an impressive feat, many of Asmongold’s fans celebrated this milestone while waiting for the streamer to come back on Twitch.
Following his return to Twitch, Asmongold talked about future ideas for his channel. Asmongold plans to stream Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which came out on October 31. He also mentioned that he would like to do an IRL stream with Esfand and Nick, with potential plans to travel to the Middle East.
