World of Warcraft Massively Buffs 20th Anniversary Event
Key Takeaways
- World of Warcraft increased the number of Bronze Celebration Tokens available to get during the 20th anniversary event, making it easier to get rewards.
- Players can collect around 140 tokens weekly.
- Fans are happy with improved token rates, but some are annoyed it wasn’t like this from the start.
World of Warcraft just massively increased the number of Bronze Celebration Tokens players get from completing weekly activities and quests during the 20th anniversary event. With each source granting between three and eight times as many tokens as before, World of Warcraft fans should have no problem collecting all the new anniversary rewards over the next 10 weeks of the event.
The 20th anniversary event for World of Warcraft officially began on October 22. Set to run through January 6, World of Warcraft players had a total of 77 days to obtain Bronze Celebration Tokens and purchase every event reward. This currency is obtained by completing weekly objectives, including both event quests and The War Within Season 1 activities, with approximately 61 tokens being available the first week of the event.

However, now that the second week of the event has begun, World of Warcraft has made Bronze Celebration Tokens much easier to get. As of the weekly reset, the Bronze Celebration tokens earned from completing weekly activities have been massively increased. The rates vary between activities – event quests like Timely Gatecrashers and An Original Path through Time give about 3 times as many tokens, defeating Queen Ansurek gives 5 times, and Khaz Algar zone activities and PvP quests give between 8 and 15 times the currency as before.

Though fans are still doing the math, players should be able to get around 140 Bronze Celebration tokens this week – not including the extra from daily activities that unlock after acquiring 100 tokens. Considering fans only need 375 Bronze Celebration Tokens to purchase every reward, including the revamped World of Warcraft Tier 2 sets and both new and returning anniversary items, even casual players should be able to get everything.
Fans are happy to see this incredible change to the Bronze Celebration Token acquisition rate. While there was plenty of time to participate in the event, some collectors were worried the slow trickle of Bronze Celebration Tokens would make buying all the rewards difficult unless they engaged with aspects of the game that don’t appeal to every player, such as PvP or the new Blackrock Depths raid in World of Warcraft. Now, fans should be able to get everything by doing the content they enjoy the most.
However, some players are annoyed that World of Warcraft didn’t start with these increased rates in the first place. Many who played the anniversary event on the Public Test Realm expressed displeasure at the slow income of Bronze Celebration Tokens, but the event still launched with it. Even so, one week is better than several, so fans can be glad this change came now, rather than halfway through the event.
