A Rumored Honkai: Star Rail Feature Could Be Good For Astral Express

The Astral Express is a prominent symbol in Honkai: Star Rail, serving as the Nameless’ main form of transportation across the cosmos. It’s also considered the home base for the Trailblazer, where they can interact with their crewmates and other visiting Honkai: Star Rail characters they’ve met throughout their journey.

Since the early months of the game, many Honkai: Star Rail fans have been requesting a housing feature or customizable bedroom for the Trailblazer on the Astral Express. Developer HoYoverse has yet to address if such a feature is possible, and some avid players also think that it might not happen anytime soon to preserve the game’s mobile optimization. But Honkai: Star Rail seems to be slowly adding opportunities to redecorate certain parts of the train, and a new leak might be teasing a possible expansion as well.

A Leaked Honkai: Star Rail Feature Might Signal a Big Change For the Astral Express

According to a recent leak from HomDGCat, Honkai: Star Rail will reportedly add a bathtub feature to the Astral Express in Version 2.7. It’s said to have different bath options and lotions that the Trailblazer and possibly other characters could use to buff up their stats, like increased ATK DMG and Ultimate DMG. Some fans also likened it to Zenless Zone Zero‘s ramen shop, where Agents could get one temporary buff per day.

• Bath Efficacy: Increases ATK
• Clear Fragrance: Increased Ultimate DMG
• Mysterious Massage: Follow-up ATK DMG increased
• Warm Current: DoT dealt by characters increased

The rumored feature would be a really easy way to raise characters’ stats in one go beyond crafting consumables. It’s also great for players running specific team compositions that rely on specific abilities and attributes. For example, with the release of Feixiao in Version 2.5, players started building a Follow-Up ATK team with the Arbiter-General as the main DPS and The Hunt March 7th as the sub-DPS. If players get a Mysterious Massage in the bathtub, it would help Feixiao and March 7th deal more damage to enemies. Overall, this would be very useful for tough battles, like Forgotten Hall’s Memory of Chaos.

It’s still unknown where the bathtub will be placed on the Astral Express. Currently, there’s one locked room in the cabin area, which is believed to be the Trailblazer’s future bedroom that fans hope to customize. With this new leak, it’s possible that the room might turn into the rumored bath area. Unless, of course, Honkai: Star Rail opens up a brand-new area and expands the Astral Express to accommodate the bathtub feature.

Visually, the Astral Express appears to be a long train with many rooms, but Honkai: Star Rail only allows players to access the Parlor Car and cabin area. The possibility of expanding the Astral Express is exciting because it (literally) opens doors to more interactive spots and, potentially, areas where players can place additional memorabilia from different planets, just like the Brother Hanu TV from Penacony.

It’s Not Too Late For Honkai: Star Rail to Add Some Sort of Housing System

Assuming that the locked room on the Astral Express would be Trailblazer’s bedroom, Honkai: Star Rail could still add some customization, even if it’s minimal. It doesn’t have to be as elaborate as Genshin Impact‘s Serenitea Pot, nor feel like a Sims game with furniture arrangements. It could follow Zenless Zone Zero‘s bedroom design, which is fully furnished and has a corkboard that can be customized with photos the Proxy took with Agents. This could be the ideal course to take to ensure that Honkai: Star Rail still runs smoothly on mobile, while still giving players a spot that they could personalize in some way, especially if the game is really looking to expand the Astral Express.
