Haunted Chocolatier is About to Miss the Perfect Update Opportunity

From Hollow Knight: Silksong to Beyond Good and Evil 2, there are many titles that are long due an update, and Haunted Chocolatier sits near the top.

It’s been a long road for Haunted Chocolatier, and as anticipation continues to grow, the expectations increase. After three years of silence, many Stardew Valley fans are awaiting fresh news, and the perfect moment to offer some insight into Haunted Chocolatier is quickly passing by. An October Update For Haunted Chocolatier Would Be Perfect Timing
Fully Embracing Haunted Chocolatier’s Spooky Elements
Stardew Valley features plenty of supernatural elements, but Haunted Chocolatier turns up the dial on this concept. As players take on the role of the titular chocolate and candy maker, ghosts also happen to inhabit the castle in which one’s character works. The first and only trailer for the game promises a charming and spooky experience. Therefore, it only makes sense for Halloween to be the perfect stage for Barone to offer more information about the project.
A ghost-infested castle where chocolate-making is the key goal is a far departure from Stardew Valley‘s farming roots, and that’s one of the many aspects that make Haunted Chocolatier so intriguing. The game boasts the same art style and energy as its predecessor, but putting a completely different spin on this follow-up has compelled many.
October Is An Important Month For Haunted Chocolatier
Besides the obvious benefit of offering an update about a ghost-fueled cozy game around the Halloween season, October holds a lot of importance for Haunted Chocolatier, despite the holiday. When the game was first announced back in 2021, Barone offered the initial sneak peeks of the game in the month of October. If Haunted Chocolatier were to get a fresh update now, it would be an exciting full-circle moment for the game. Since that announcement, many have wondered how Haunted Chocolatier will compare to Stardew Valley, and October would be the perfect moment to give fans a hint at what is in store.
On October 3, 2021, Barone shared the first images of
Haunted Chocolatier
, while the first official trailer launched a few weeks later, on October 21.
A Release Date For Haunted Chocolatier Remains a Mystery
A Slow and Steady Development Cycle
Eric Barone’s hands have been quite full this year. Although the long wait for Haunted Chocolatier has been frustrating for some, there has at least been a good reason for the extensive development. Stardew Valley‘s large 1.6 update took up much of his time, but once it releases for consoles and mobile, there will hopefully be more time for work on Haunted Chocolatier to continue.
Stardew Valley
‘s long-awaited 1.6 update is scheduled to come to both consoles and mobile on November 4.
Although the release plans for Haunted Chocolatier are currently unknown, there is still optimism for a fresh update in the near future. Barone has made it clear that the game will take some time, which is understandable, but many Stardew Valley fans simply want to know more. If this October doesn’t bring more insight, hopefully next year will.
