The Best Light Weapons In The Finals
No selection will make players feel more versatile, agile, and constantly on their toes than the Light class in The Finals Season 3. The Light class comprises the deathly combo of specializations that enhance evasive maneuverability, fast-firing weapons, and deft melee weapons that can quickly whittle down the opponents’ health. These contestants come with a lower health pool, but their agility and unique specializations make them a menace in the arena.
Updated October 22, 2024, by Amjad A. Asma: Embark Studios released The Finals Season 4 update on September 26, adding a new map, three guns, a bunch of cosmetics, and more. The season has also seen significant balance changes, shaking up the list of the best Light weapons in The Finals Season 4. The XP-54 and the SR-84 felt the brunt of the impact, with the former now dislodged from its top position. The new weapon, the M26 Matter, has seen lackluster reception. It’s not as strong in the meta due to its TTK values, and it’s also wildly overshadowed by picks like the M11 and the SH1900. The Recurve Bow and the SR-84 aren’t one of the best Light weapons in The Finals Season 4. The bow still takes time to get used to and its projectile mechanic still falls way behind others. The SR-84 has also received an important but sad change, with its system no longer hitscan after 40m. This has significantly nerfed its effectiveness; the LH1 remains the preferred long-distance pick. Things couldn’t be better for melee fans as the Sword is yet again one of the best Light weapons in The Finals Season 4—it has received a buff as well.

7 M26 Matter
Large-Mag, Pump-Action Shotgun
The M26 Matter is the new gun for the Light build in The Finals Season 4. It is a pump-action shotgun that comes with eight rounds. This would make it the first choice over the SH1900 for a shotgun, except that its damage is much less than the latter. While the SH1900 can comfortably one-shot a Light and two-shot a Medium and a Heavy, the M26 Matter can take up to one-to-three shots more. The gun has shown some inconsistency regarding damage numbers on various parts of the body and at varied distances, which makes it less popular at the moment.
The M26 Matter is one of the best Light weapons in The Finals Season 4, but it’s not one of the top choices. It can be viable in low-skill lobbies, but it will be a challenging gun to win with otherwise. If players prefer a shotgun with a Light class build, the SH1900 is the weapon to pick. If they’re free to experiment, the Medium class’ Model 1887 is ruling The Finals Season 4 meta right now.
6 Throwing Knives
Longer-Range Weapon Suitable For Precise Hits
The Throwing Knives are a niche weapon and suited The Finals Season 3’s Feudal Japan theme and Kyoto 1568 map very well. They’re niche in The Finals Season 4 as well, but they can be very good if fans get used to them. For one, the secondary attack has been “buffed” and the knives will fly after the button is released. This makes it slightly easier to lead attacks, especially for those still learning the ropes, but the primary attack still remains the main contender in close-quarter fights.

The Finals: Best Gadgets For Light Builds, Ranked
There are plenty of great gadgets available for Light build players in The Finals; here are the best ones.
What makes the Throwing Knives one of the best Light weapons in The Finals Season 4 is that there’s no need to reload. Fans can keep attacking without rest, and there’s even a damage multiplier on headshots. The knives do come with a projectile system rather than a hitscan, so short- to mid-range is recommended.
5 SH1900
Sawed-Off Shotgun With Unmatchable Damage
The SH1900 is easily a top-tier Light class weapon in The Finals Season 4. The meta favors it, especially since its damage remains one of the highest across the board. It can comfortably one-shot a Light and two-to-three shot a Medium and Heavy. The bullet dispersion is fairly controlled till 10m, which makes it a great ambush option when paired with the Evasive Dash. The Vanishing Bomb, one of the best Light gadgets in The Finals Season 4’s meta, is also a great option to pair with the Sawed-Off.
The SH1900 does come with disadvantages – short-distance viability and two-round magazine. However, its damage numbers and relative ease of use make it a good Light weapon in The Finals Season 4 meta. Since its reload time has also been reduced by almost 0.4s, now is as good a time as any to try it out.
4 XP-54
Reliable SMG For Combat At Any Range
The Finals Season 4’s balancing changes have decreased the XP-54’s damage per bullet from 18 to 16. This may not seem like much, but its overall viability in the meta has reduced. The saving grace is that other numbers haven’t been changed – the mag size is still 30 and the reload speed is 2.7s. Its automatic mechanic also makes it easier to use than the V9S.

The Finals: Weapon Tier List
Looking for the best weapons to use for the Light, Heavy, and Medium classes in The Finals? Here is a Tier List ranking all the weapons available.
The XP-54 still remains a strong Light class weapon in The Finals Season 4, but its impact isn’t as deeply felt as in Season 3. A very slight buff is that the new alternate scope increases the magnification by a tiny amount, allowing for better target tracking when using ADS. The high rate of fire and reliable distance drop-off also enable it to safely and quickly take out the Medium build’s APS Turret gadget. If players struggle with quick-tapping the V9S, controlling the M11’s recoil, and don’t prefer melee, the XP-54 stands as the recommended choice.
3 Sword
Best Melee Weapon in The Finals
The Sword is one of the best weapons in The Finals Season 4, better than even the Heavy build’s Sledgehammer. The key point in its favor is its sheer speed, which is massively efficient when paired with the Evasive Dash. With the new crosshair update, the attack sweeps are more centered on the screen. This has made targets not only easier to judge but has also made the hits more technically accurate in-game.
The primary move does a lot of damage and is quick, but the secondary has the biggest impact. The lunge attack’s reach has been increased from 5m to 6m. This may not seem much, but the extra distance helps a lot; the attack also maintains the speed for a longer duration. The base mechanics and the new balance tweaks have made the Sword a great Light weapon for The Finals Season 4 meta.
2 M11
Lightning-Fast Rate Of Fire, But High Recoil
This is arguably the best up-close gun in The Finals Season 4. The M11’s rate of fire is the highest of any other weapon in the game, and while the recoil is high, it is manageable up close. It also comes with 40 rounds, a reload time of 1.7s, and a damage multiplier on headshots. These easily make the M11 one of the best Light weapons in The Finals Season 4’s meta.

The Finals Reveals Season 4 and New Gameplay Twist
Embark Studios reveals the very first details for The Finals Season 4, with a major gameplay twist set to shake up the popular shooter.
The M11 would earlier lose out to the XP-54 due to the latter’s lenient recoil and longer range, plus the higher damage. The XP-54 has been nerfed with the new season’s launch. It’s still a good weapon, but it’s getting outclassed since most Medium builds in The Finals Season 4 meta are picking the new Pike-556. The LH1 isn’t a worthy weapon to pick up either. Since the Light class has to lean on close-quarters fights even more in The Finals Season 4 meta, the M11 becomes the better choice all around.
1 V9S
Semi-Automatic Pistol With Good Damage and Reload Speed
The V9S is ruling the roost among all Light class weapons in The Finals Season 4 meta. The fire rate was reduced recently to a respectable 360 RPM, but this has been compensated with the base damage buff from 37 to 40. A key point to note is the new optic’s addition—the gun is now easier to use when ADS-ing, which increases the accuracy by a good margin.
The V9S may not be the best for newcomers since it’s a single-tap fire and not an automatic SMG. However, it’s one of the most-picked guns in high-ranked lobbies. It is also among the best long-range weapons for the Light class in The Finals Season 4 meta since the XP-54’s damage has been nerfed. The buffed damage, crit multiplier, 20-round mag, 1.3s reload time, and now an easier-to-use sight have made the V9S the top choice all around. If players haven’t chosen a class to main in The Finals Season 4, an optimized Light build with the V9S may just be what they need to make up their minds.
