Zoan Devil Fruits are one of three basic variants appearing in the One Piece series. They are shown to allow their user to transform into an animal or a human/animal hybrid in addition to their standard appearance. This tends to allow the user to gain a boost in physical strength and acquire potentially desirable attributes from the animal associated with their Devil Fruit.

The vast majority of the Devil Fruits displayed tend to have a name that identifies the exact form of their user. Unfortunately, not every Zoan Devil Fruit has gained such a distinction, and there are currently a handful of users whose exact powers are unclear outside what little is shown of them.

6 Onigumo’s Devil Fruit

Allows Onigumo To Transform Into A Spider

Onigumo One Piece

  • Debut: Chapter 420 (manga), Episode 302 (anime)

Vice Admiral Onigumo was one of five dispatched for the Buster Call on Enies Lobby. He is a firm believer in Absolute Justice, and sabers appear to be his preferred weapon of choice. His Devil Fruit allows him to transform into a spider, although the exact kind, if there is even a specific one it derives from, is unclear.

Onigumo tends to primarily use this ability to wield six extra swords in combat, in addition to the pair in each of his actual arms. This is somewhat similar to the sword styles of Hatchan and Hyouzou, who use their octopus-like physiology to carry extra swords. The extra appendages appear to extend from his hair, and this seems to be the extent to which he utilizes the abilities of his Devil Fruit. Any other potential spider abilities, like usage of a web and potential toxicity, seem to be of little interest to him, if he is indeed even capable of either.

5 Epoida’s Devil Fruit

Allows Epoida To Transform Into A Caterpillar

  • Debut: Chapter 553 (manga), Episode 467 (anime)

Epoida is a subordinate captain of the Whitebeard Pirates, who historically sailed with the crew before starting his own. The exact extent of his strength remains unknown, but he is presumably fairly strong as one of Whitebeard’s Subordinate Captains, some of whom are shown to be evenly matched with Vice Admirals or collectively trashing Pacifistas.

Epoida is notably the only identified Devil Fruit user among the subordinate captains. His unnamed Devil Fruit allows him to turn into a caterpillar, but it is unclear how exactly this affects his skills in combat (if indeed it does at all). His body appears to section itself similar to the pattern on his striped shirt in hybrid form. It is unknown if he can transform into a butterfly from his base form. Though if he did, perhaps it would be similar to Baron Tamago, who tends to shift between three forms in a cycle from the egg to the chicken. It is likely this facet, as well as Epoida, will remain unexplored, due to his already limited relevance in the series.

4 Dalmatian’s Devil Fruit

Allows Dalmatian To Transform Into A Dog

  • Debut: Chapter 553 (manga), Episode 462 (anime)

Dalmatian is a Vice Admiral, who, as his name implies, has a Devil Fruit that appears to transform him into the iconic breed of dog. According to The Kennel Club, Dalmatians are “capable of great endurance and a fair turn of speed.” While Dalmatian’s exact physical capabilities have yet to be measured in-depth, these traits are likely needed to become a Vice Admiral. Dalmatian is almost always shown in his hybrid form, with his dog-like and human features both manifesting in different parts of his face.

Zoan Devil Fruits give their users some amazing abilities. These are the strongest ones showcased so far.

Rather than relying on a weapon, Dalmatian trained in Rokushki and physically enhanced his body to the point of even being able to pierce Luffy’s skin. In this regard, he is similar to various CP0 members, who utilized Rokushki in combination with their Zoan forms. It is unclear how he compares to the likes of Rob Lucci physically, but as a Vice Admiral, he likely has a fair bit of strength behind his title.

3 Stussy’s Devil Fruit

Transforms Stussy Into A Vampire Bat (?)

Stussy licks her lips after sucking blood in her hybrid form in One Piece.

  • Debut: Chapter 860 (manga), Episode 830 (anime)

Stussy is a clone of Miss Buckingham Stussy, a somewhat older pirate who was once acquainted with Whitebeard and allegedly her lover. She was the product of MADS, an illegal research institute consisting of Vegapunk and other scientists of note. Stussy acted as a mole for Vegapunk and became a masked agent of Cipher Pol 0 for over a decade without eliciting suspicion.

During the Egghead Arc, she betrayed Lucci and Kaku when they attempted to fight Vegapunk, growing wings and draining blood to knock out her fellow agents. This is likely the product of a Devil Fruit, albeit with the exact logistics being unclear. It is noteworthy that this Devil Fruit, despite not appearing to be awakened, can knock out users who have awakened their Devil Fruits, though it is unclear if this is a testament to Stussy’s power or the Devil Fruit itself. It may be either a standard or Mythical Zoan, due to the existence of actual vampire bats and the fictitious nature of vampires. It has parallels in some regards to Patrick Redfield’s Devil Fruit in One Piece: Unlimited World Red, but it is not shown to have its exact capabilities, which places it squarely in the Mythical category.

2 Pomsky

Transforms Pomsky Into A Sea Otter

  • Debut: Chapter 1089 (manga)

This Vice Admiral debuted in the recently concluded Egghead Arc, being one of nine involved in the event known as the Egghead Incident. Even compared to some other Vice Admirals, fairly little is known about him except for his somewhat fascinating Devil Fruit.

Despite their relative rarity, merfolk in One Piece are not to be trifled with, and a few of their number are impressively strong.

Pomsky’s unnamed Devil Fruit allows him to transform into a sea otter. However, the inherent nature of Devil Fruits restricts Pomsky from one of the mammal’s primary assets: the ability to effectively traverse water. Although sea otters are capable of traversing land, a lot of their features are fundamentally geared towards existing in the water. Nonetheless, Pomsky went all in on the aquatic theme, using a maul with a seashell-shaped hammerhead as his primary weapon.

1 The Five Elders

A Chimera Of Mythical Zoans

five elders gorosei not devil fruit users one piece

  • Debut Chapter 233 (manga), Episode 151 (anime)

These semi-immortal oligarchs are the public faces of Imu, the true ruler of the world. Each one of them is in charge of a specific position, which they are declared the “Warrior God” of, such as justice, finance, or agriculture. Even with one of their number being killed and replaced, there are still many things that fans do not know about these individuals, including the names of their purported Devil Fruits. Each one appears to be a somewhat esoteric Mythical Zoan, the rarest known variant of Devil Fruit.

The respective forms are an Itsumade (Marcus Mars); a monstrous bird, a Fengxi (Topman Warcury); a demonic boar, a Bakotsu (Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro); a skeletal horse, a Sandworm (Shepherd Ju Peter); a gigantic worm capable of devouring everything, and a Gyuki (Jaygarcia Saturn); a bizarre bull-spider hybrid. Each one of them also seems to be “awakened.” With Saturn’s execution, it is unclear what kind of Devil Fruit the newest elder, Figarland Garling, possesses, or if he even has one at all.
