Fuel Stations
You can check your fuel gauge on your dash at any time while you’re in the truck. If you see that you’re running low it’s time to fill up. It’s always a good idea to stock up on gas before going out on a job. As you level up and get higher-ranked certifications, your flights will get even longer.
Thankfully, there will usually be a fuel station at every hub area. Look for a central space station where you can receive jobs and visit shops. There should be a fuel station nearby. They will be shown as a fuel icon on your HUD. Pull into the purple fuel pump areas at a fuel station. Stop your truck and the designated area will turn green.
Press begin fueling to pump gas into your truck. Different stations will have varying prices. Press again to stop pumping gas if it gets too expensive for your wallet.
Manual Refueling
If you’re really in a pinch and stranded far away from a station, you can deal with it yourself. You’ll start out with one spare fuel canister in your truck. Look for it on the shelf next to the circuit breaker and sleeping quarters.
Grab the fuel canister and put on your spacesuit. Exit the airlock and fly to the underside of your truck. The red fuel cap is in between your main engines. Carefully drop the fuel canister and remove the fuel cap. Try to remain very still as your canister/cap can easily fly away in zero gravity if you bump into them. Pick up the canister and refuel your truck manually. Don’t forget to screw the cap back on. Return the fuel canister to your truck interior so you don’t receive a fine for littering.
You can buy fuel canisters at most shops in Star Trucker. Stay stocked up on canisters just in case. If you find yourself stranded with no fuel at all, you have only one option. Turn off the oxygen in your truck cabin, and you will be recovered by a rescue team.
