Chlöe Bailey is gearing up for the release of her sophomore album “Trouble in Paradise,” slated to drop this Friday.

“A storm is coming,” she wrote on Instagram, revealing the imminent release of “Trouble in Paradise” and its cover art depicting her in a neon dress laying down in a pool of water. Thus far, she’s put out a pair of singles including “FYS” and “Boy Bye,” which dropped to coincide with the singer’s Coachella performance back in April.

“Trouble in Paradise” was largely recorded in Saint Lucia and, as she explained in an interview with Nylon, is “a coming-of-age celebration of being a woman and having fun, not taking life too seriously.” It features guest appearance from Anderson .Paak and Jeremih as well as a long-awaited reunion with her sister Halle on the track “Want Me,” their first duet in three years.

“It’s weird, because it’s almost like I wrote the song for two without knowing it,” she said of the song. “I was talking to one of my engineers, and she was telling me about this guy and how into her he is, and I was sharing a similar story. I was like, ‘But am I that much into him? Why is it that the ones we want don’t want us like this?’ I immediately wrote it down in my notes, and the song wrote itself in, like, five minutes.”

“Trouble in Paradise” follows her debut solo album “In Pieces,” which released in March 2023. The project produced a series of singles including “Pray It Away,” “How Does It Feel” with Chris Brown and “Body Do,” and peaked at No. 119 on the Billboard 200. Elsewhere, she just appeared as a guest feature on the remix to Tinashe’s summer hit “Nasty.”
