Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Players Are Using Mods to Cheat
Key Takeaways
- Cheating mods are already a problem in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero PvP matches, targeting ranked battles.
- The community identified an auto refill mod as the source of cheating in the game, leading to unfair advantages.
- Despite initial setbacks with cheating, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero has achieved impressive sales and positive reception.
The Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero community has discovered players using mods to cheat in matches. The beloved Budokai Tenkaichi series is back with the release of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, giving players the chance to explore familiar stories and create new memories, as well as immerse themselves in battles against other players.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero‘s PvP is divided into two parts, one of which is the World Tournament. In this mode, it is possible to create or join an online tournament with rivals worldwide or offline, either using a set of rules or playing iconic tournaments from the Dragon Ball series. Ranked mode is the classic competitive experience, with battles where players can select a fighter from the full roster (Single Battle), or choose a limited number of fighters (DP Battle).

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero DLC Leaked
A new Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero leak is revealed, and it confirms even before the game’s release that more content is on the way.
Despite being out for less than a week, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero players are already finding gamers using mods to cheat in ranked battles. One of these players is the Redditor named JokingBr2The-Sequel, who plays as Gogeta and charges up Ki and tries to go the offensive but is stopped by Kefla’s Gigantic Ray. While Gogeta does his best to dodge the attacks, the opponent generates an unusual amount of ultimate. Hours later, the source of the cheat was revealed; an auto refill cheat mod that could be downloaded from Nexus Mods, which is now no longer available.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Players Debate About Cheat Mod
While part of the Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero community argued that Kefla’s player was using the God Ki ability, which reduces the cost of super attacks and refills the meter in the event of a missed attack, a new image has confirmed that the battle recorded by the OP was in fact against a cheater. The screenshot circulating on social media features a comment from the mod’s author regretting that someone had used their modification to cheat in online matches.
Despite the setback, which at the time of writing had not been addressed by Spike Chunsoft and Bandai Namco, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero keeps making big numbers. While the game had already amassed an impressive number of pre-orders and early access players, Sparking Zero passed a major sales milestone in just one day, selling three million copies. With a positive start and good reception from the public and critics, after being one of the year’s most anticipated releases, the game is shaping to be one of the year’s top games.
