Undisputed has exited Early Access and is now fully launched on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. While it still has its issues online, it’s a far better experience offline with punches having more weight and impact. It’s the only boxing simulation since 2011’s Fight Night Champion and it’s a worthy contender among boxing greats like Sega’s Greatest Heavyweights and Evander Holyfield’s Real Deal Boxing.

12 Lionheart
Makes It Easier To Get Up After A Knockdown
Trait Name |
Lionheart |
---|---|
Passives |
|
One of the more challenging mechanics in Undisputed is getting up after a knockdown. It can feel like players need two sets of eyes to line up and balance the bars to get the fighters off the canvas. Luckily, the Lionheart trait does make this easier for some fighters in the game like Rocky Marciano.
Marciano was an undefeated world heavyweight champion who almost had a supernatural ability to get up after a knockdown and keep coming forward. The Lionheart trait was built for a fighter like this. It’s an excellent trait to consider if players are struggling with getting up after a knockdown and a great way to practice.
Rocky Marciano possesses the Lionheart 3 trait, which enhances his ability to get up by 12%, albeit with a 2% reduction.
11 Switch Hitter
Change Stances To Confuse Opponents
Trait Name |
Switch Hitter |
---|---|
Passives |
No Penalty for fighting in the opposite stance to default |
In boxing and other combat sports, fighters typically adopt one of two stances: orthodox or southpaw. The orthodox stance is commonly used by right-handed fighters, who lead with their left jab, while southpaw fighters are usually left-handed and lead with their right hand. Very few fighters can comfortably change their stance in a fight and this is reflected in the game unless a fighter like Tyson Fury has the Switch Hitter trait.
Switching stances deep into a fight is a great way to change strategies as an opponent has adapted to the player’s style. Switching to southpaw or vice versa can take them out of their comfort zone often leaving them open to new combinations as they scramble to readjust their strategies.
10 Lightning Hands
Faster Hands For Better Combos
Trait Name |
Lightning Hands |
---|---|
Passives |
|
Lightning Hands is a great trait for those players who like to throw a lot of punches in quick succession. The trait’s downside is that it reduces the damage to the punches thrown by 3%. However, the upside is an increase of 10% in punch speed.
Coupled with other traits, like punches in bunches, this trait makes fighters very dangerous. Three quick hooks can cause devastation, and being able to throw them fast will often cause issues for any player. If players wish to try this trait, Sergio Martinez makes great use of it in the welterweight division.
9 Liver Destroyer
For Fighters Who Attack The Body
Trait Name |
Liver Destroyer |
---|---|
Passives |
|
Liver destroyer is one of those traits that can be predictable if the opponent catches that a player specifically targets the liver. However, as it carries a massive damage increase of 30%, it can be worth it.

There is no penalty with this trait either, so a player must sneak in a liver shot and watch the opponent fold in half. Saul Canelo Alverez is an expert at picking people off with this punch in devastating fashion and can be used in the game to replicate this destruction.
8 Jawbreaker
More Powerful Uppecuts
Trait Name |
Jawbreaker |
---|---|
Passives |
|
Jawbreaker is a great trait for those players who like to switch up their punch selection. A classic one-two combination or a sneaky lead left hook is too predictable. As most people fall into the pit of throwing simplistic combinations, an uppercut can really change the mood of a fight.
Like in real boxing, an uppercut is best used sparingly, as it needs to be timed perfectly and, when thrown from a distance, leaves a fighter well open to counters. It is usually a cardinal sin to throw a rear-hand uppercut without first setting it up behind other punches. With that said, this trait increases uppercut damage to the head by 20% and increases the chance to daze an opponent by 10% with any uppercuts. Sugar Ray Robinson features the Jawbreaker 2 with uppercuts landing 25% more damage.
7 The Prince
For Fighters Who Like To Stick And Move
Trait Name |
The Prince |
---|---|
Passives |
|
This trait comes with a small downside but is still very much worthy of mention. The upside is that players will have increased damage from all directional punches by 10%. The downside is that when standing still, there is a reduction of 5% for all punches.
This is a good trait for movers but bad for people who like to fight in close quarters. Fighters like Oleksander Usyk are a prime example of this. Usyk prefers to stick and move rather than stand still and throw heavy shots.
6 Untouchable
Great For Avoiding Punches
Trait Name |
Untouchable |
---|---|
Passives |
|
There are rumors that back in 1946, the defensive genius Willie Pep won a round without throwing a punch, untouchable. Given to those blessed with the reflexes of a cat and the speed of a greased mongoose, Untouchable is a trait that can make opponents make mistakes.
This trait increases dodge and slip speed by 10 percent, meaning players are more elusive than a see-through Sasquatch in a snowstorm. As missing punches will wear out opponents, this is an ideal trait for those who like to wear people down before stepping up the pace. Much like in real boxing, this trait requires skill to get right and won’t be everyone’s cup of tea; however, in the right hands, this trait will feel overpowered.
5 Loosey Goosey
More Dangerous From The Loose Stance
Trait Name |
Loosey Goosey |
---|---|
Passives |
Upon Entering Loose Movement
|
This trait is the epitome of a slippery fighter. Someone that is hard to hit and moves faster than a cat on a hot tin roof. Roy Jones Jr is a perfect example of this trait; at one point, Roy was the fastest thing on two legs and looked like the loosest goose of them all. While this trait won’t suit everyone’s play style, players who like to counter will love this one.
This trait is active using loose movement, which works great when dealing with an aggressive opponent. The trait is a little bit of a double-edged sword, however, as it carries a penalty. While it does increase damage for all punches by a whopping 25 percent, players will also take an increased amount of damage to the same percentage. Remember: hit, and don’t get hit.
Roy Jones Jr has the Loosey Goosey 3 trait that increases damage dealt by 30 percent instead of 25.
4 Distance Keeper
Great For Fighters That Like To Work The Jab
Trait Name |
Distance Keeper |
---|---|
Passives |
|
Distance Keeper may be one of the most underrated traits in the game due to most players fighting aggressively. With this trait, players get an increase of 20% to all jabs while losing 5% of damage from hooks. Now, with the right stats, this is a monster trait. The jab is the most important punch in boxing, bar none, and this just makes it even more dominant.

Used correctly, these heavy jabs can upset a fighter’s rhythm and even drop fighters or daze them. Sugar Ray Leonard is a great example of this trait being exceptional; coupled with Sugar’s overall great stats, this really shines on keeping aggressive fighters at bay. This is a great example of the best defense being a good offense.
Sugar Ray possesses the Distance Keeper 2 trait which increases the damage of thrown jabs by 20% but decreases the damage thrown by hooks by 5%, a small increase on the base version of Distance Keeper.
3 Second Wind & Third Wind
Make A Comeback After Getting Knocked To The Canvas
Trait Name |
Second Wind |
---|---|
Passives |
After getting up from a knockdown, deal 25% increased damage and reduce stamina costs by 25% for 30 seconds. |
Trait Name |
Third Wind |
---|---|
Passives |
|
Second Wind and Third Wind are separate traits, but as a pair are deadly. Tyson Fury carries both of these traits, which makes him a great choice for beginner fighters.
Second Wind is activated upon being knocked down and gives a fighter an increase of 25% to their punches with a 25% reduction in stamina costs for 30 seconds. Third Wind is a passive trait that reduces power by 5% for all punches, but post-round 8, stamina recovery is increased by 10%. In a game dominated by stamina, these are fantastic traits to have, especially if players like to take fights to the distance.
2 Bomber
Become A Knockout Artist
Trait Name |
Bomber |
---|---|
Passives |
|
An obvious one, but boxers with this trait tend to win fights in a scary fashion. This trait increases damage to straight shots to the head by 25% and also increases the chance of the opponent being knocked down by 50% when caught with a power shot. A double bonus!
Boxers like Deontay Wilder carry this trait, and players must watch out when fighting anyone who can bomb. One mistake and those heavy hands will end the fight, but players must time it right.
Deontay Wilder and Joe Louis are known as the Bronze Bomber and Brown Bomber respectively and have an enhanced version of the trait with the Bomber 3 trait. It increases the damage of power punches to the head by 50% and the chance of a flash knockdown by a massive 75%.
1 Float Like A Butterfly And Sting Like A Bee
Move Faster, Avoid Punches, And Land Devastating Counters
Trait Name |
Float Like A Butterfly |
---|---|
Passives |
|
Trait Name |
Sting Like A Bee |
---|---|
Passives |
|
Aptly named after the most famous phrase in boxing is “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, his hands can’t hit what his eyes can’t see.” This quote came from arguably the greatest boxer to have lived, Muhammed Ali. Ali, in Undisputed, carries both traits; yes, they are separate traits. Some people can float, some can sting, and Ali could do both!
Float Like a Butterfly gives an increase of 10% to slipping with a 5% reduction in dodge speed. Sting Like a Bee increases damage from counterpunches and carries a penalty by reducing the chance of knocking down an opponent with a counterpunch by 10%.
Unsurprisingly, Muhammed Ali possesses enhanced versions of both traits with Float Like a Butterfly 3 increasing his slip speed to 12% instead of 10. His Sting Like A Bee 3 trait increases the damage of counterpunches by 20% and reduces the chance of knocking down an opponent with a counter by 5%.
