Overwatch 2 is buffing Mauga and Sojourn, nerfing Ramattra and Juno, and reworking Sombra significantly in Season 13. These and more balance adjustments are coming to Overwatch 2 on October 15 as a part of the next content update.

October 15 is going to be a big day for Overwatch 2. Both the annual Halloween Terror and its next seasonal update both arrive that day, bringing both new and classic game modes, a spellbinding refresh to the Battle Pass, and changes to the Circuit Royal, Dorado, Havana, and Numbani maps.

Of course, no Overwatch 2 season would be complete without balance adjustments, and game director Aaron Keller just teased a bunch of hero tweaks in a new Director’s Take blog. The Sombra rework mentioned in a previous Overwatch 2 blog is finally coming. Her Stealth is changing significantly: rather than being an automatic passive, it triggers for five seconds after using her Translocator instead, which is having its cooldown increased. This Stealth only flickers briefly when she takes damage or Hacks, but her Hack ability now only lasts for one second. To compensate, Sombra is getting her Opportunist passive back.

Overwatch 2 Season 13 Hero Changes

  • Tanks
    • Ramattra’s Pummel no longer passes through barriers, but it now deals 2.5x damage to them.
    • Mauga’s Incendiary Chaingun ignites enemies for 4 seconds, up from 3.
  • Supports
    • Juno’s Mediblaster healing is being slightly reduced, as is its falloff range.
    • Brigitte and Baptiste are both being adjusted as well.
  • Damage
    • Sojourn
      • Railgun no longer holds a minimum of 25 energy, but now loses charge at a slower rate.
      • Disruptor Shot damage is increased from 60 to 80, and it now generates Railgun charge.
    • Sombra
      • Stealth passive removed.
      • Translocator instantly Stealths Sombra for 5 seconds, but has its cooldown increased.
      • This Stealth is only briefly disrupted when she Hacks or takes damage.
      • Hack ability lockout reduced from 1.5 second to 1 second.
      • Opportunist passive has returned, which now reveals critically injured enemies and increases weapon damage over time.

Beyond the changes to Sombra, a few heroes are getting some nerfs. Ramattra’s Pummel in Nemesis Form no longer ignores barriers – rather, it deals 2.5 times the damage to them. Juno, Overwatch 2’s new hero who has been dominating recently, is also having the healing and falloff range of her Mediblaster reduced.

Not every hero is getting bad news in Overwatch 2 Season 13, however. Mauga’s Incendiary Chaingun burn effect will now last for an extra second, while Sojourn’s Disruptor Shot will deal more damage and generate Railgun charge – and the alt-fire resource itself now deteriorates slower than before, though it no longer has a minimum charge. Changes are coming to heroes like Brigitte and Baptiste as well, so players will have to see what these adjustments are once Overwatch 2 Season 13 goes live on October 15.
