  • The 20-player Koopathlon and Minigame Bay are available to try.
  • Super Mario Party Jamboree releases on October 17.

With the release of Super Mario Party Jamboree on the horizon, some retail stores are giving fans a chance to sample some of what the game has to offer. While some Nintendo gamers might be hoping for a demo available to download on Switch, there at least appears to be another option for those who want to test out Super Mario Party Jamboree before launch to get a better idea of the gameplay.

The Mario Party series has been popular for Nintendo for years, with installments stretching back to the N64. However, the series has reached new levels of sales success on the Switch: 2018’s Super Mario Party has sold over 20 million copies, and 2021’s Mario Party Superstars has eclipsed 12 million. Now, Nintendo hopes to build on this success with Super Mario Party Jamboree, featuring over 110 minigames and seven boards at launch. In addition, the game will include a variety of interesting modes to mix up the traditional Mario Party action.

Super Mario Party Jamboree Could Set the World on Fire By Getting the Mario Kart Treatment

Super Mario Party Jamboree is set to be the biggest Mario Party yet, and that idea could be pushed even further by following Mario Kart’s footsteps.

With new content compared to the previous Mario Party games on the Switch, some gamers might want to try Super Mario Party Jamboree before they buy. Fortunately, select stores are giving fans the chance to do this. According to a report from Nintendo Wire, kiosks featuring Super Mario Party Jamboree are available at Target, Best Buy, and GameStop in the United States. These demos were added to the stores on October 4, giving fans a chance to try out select modes for Super Mario Party Jamboree before it launches on October 17.

Super Mario Party Jamboree Demo Kiosks Offer Two Game Modes to Try

It is worth noting that these kiosks are reported to have a 10-minute timer, meaning players will only have a brief time with the game. Furthermore, the demo only includes two game modes from Super Mario Party Jamboree: Koopathlon and Minigame Bay. Koopathalon can be played by up to 20 players and requires players to do well in minigames to outpace their opponents on the game mode’s board. Alternatively, Minigame Bay can be played by up to four players and features a variety of different activities revolving around the over 110 minigames in Super Mario Party Jamboree. However, it should be noted that only three play modes for Minigame Bay are available in the kiosks: Showdown Minigame Battle, Free Play, and Tag Match.

Time will tell if players will eventually receive an eShop demo for Super Mario Party Jamboree that can be downloaded. With the game a little over a week from launch, time is running out for one to be added before then. However, Nintendo has been known to release demos for some of its bigger games, meaning it is not outside the realm of possibilities. Hopefully, the game delivers gameplay that both longtime fans of the Mario Party series and newcomers can enjoy.
