October is when Amazon’s biggest Prime Day deals are up for grabs, and players can look forward to a wide variety of gaming essentials, from high-end headsets to AAA games. The official Prime Day sale is slated for October 8th-9th. There are dozens of great games available at a discount, though some of these deals are exclusive to Prime members, but don’t fret! Although there weren’t as many big hits as in 2023, the fact that we’re a year on from a seriously great year in gaming means the chance of seeing a big game with an even bigger discount is pretty high. Best PS5 & PS4 Game Deals

Playstation continues to have a stranglehold on exclusive content, despite the growing trend of cross-platform game design. However, for gamers who just can’t wait for a port on PC, Switch, or Xbox, the early Prime Day deals have a few good offers that are tough to pass up. There are almost certainly going to be even better deals in the days ahead, but for now, there are plenty of AAA PS5 games for less than $50 during Prime Day.

First and foremost, is the highly-anticipated Skull and Bones pirate game, which was only released this year! However, Amazon has the PS5 version of the game marked down by an incredible 66%, bringing the price under $25! At the same time, last summer’s Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is available for just $40, and while the Xbox version of the game is also at that low price, the discount is nearly three times the amount when looking at the PS5 game price.

The same can’t be said for Spiderman 2, but as a PS5 exclusive with no hint of an upcoming PC port, it’s very lucky to see a 30% discount on the game.

Horror fans can finally pick up one of the year’s most unsettling games, Ad Infinitum. Currently at one of its lowest prices of the year, players aren’t likely to find a discount steeper than 43% anytime soon. Alternatively, players can catch up on God of War while they wait to upgrade for the next installment of the series by picking up God of War Ragnarök with a 42% price cut during Prime Day.

More laid-back players might find it best to stick to more wholesome content, which is easy to do with Sega’s sprawling game Sonic Frontiers on sale for just $20.

Before the official Prime Day sale starts, Starfield is being made available for nearly half-off, with a 44% discount attached to the price tag.

Players who want a bit more collaboration and challenge in their game can opt instead to finally pick up Diablo IV, which is on sale for $42 right now. Those who are looking for bigger discounts can pick up the half-off Sonic Superstars, a game which modernizes the beloved franchise, while staying true to the elements of the game that everyone loves, such as side-scrolling and switching out Sonic with his friends. Sonic Superstars can be had for only $26 for a limited time, so anyone with this game on their wishlist should order it now!

More adventurous players have plenty of opportunities to save too. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and Elden Ring both present tough challenges to players, and both are on sale during Prime Day. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is by far the better deal, available with a 50% discount, bringing the price down to just $25. Elden Ring fans can still save a bit with the 17% discount currently applied to the game.

For the same price, you can pick up Pikmin 4 too, which also came out in 2023 and is highly rated. Plus, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door has the same discount, making it cheaper than ever to catch up on some of Nintendo’s biggest series.
