Black Myth: Wukong‘s many boss fights all have their own nuances to them. Each offers players a different way to use their attacks, though each style also comes with its own drawbacks and limitations.

Black Myth: Wukong’s side quests are easy to miss, but absolutely should not be skipped, as the offer some of the game’s best rewards.
Pillar Stance is widely considered to be the best stance in the game, particularly in the later chapters where opponents are more agile. Pillar Stance is primarily useful for its long range, allowing players to land strikes from further away than both Smash and Thrust stance. It can also be used in a defensive capacity to avoid ground-based attacks, typically elemental attacks or other special magic powers of certain enemies. This won’t work on every boss, however, so a degree of adaptability will be necessary with each fight.
7 Whiteclad Noble
A Long-Range Counter Will Be Crucial Against This Agile Boss
Players will face off with the Whiteclad Nobl towards the end of Chapter One, leading to one of the best boss fights in the game. However, by this point, players should have enough Sparks to unlock a second stance, and Pillar Stance is the way to go when facing the Whiteclad Noble.
Due to his fast speed and ability to cover distance, the Whiteclad Noble can attack from range, equally retreating at speed when he comes under heavy attack. Pillar Stance will help to avoid some of his water-based attacks, too, but don’t rely on the stance for defense.
6 Lang-Li-Guhh-Baw
Most Main Attacks Can Be Countered With Pillar Stance
Lang-Li-Gunh-Baw is an optional boss in Chapter Two, which players can take on as part of the Xu-Dog questline. This giant frog boss uses electrical attacks, often sending out shockwaves across the ground which cause immense amounts of damage.

Black Myth Wukong: Strongest Bosses According To The Lore, Ranked
While there are a lot of difficult bosses in Black Myth: Wukong, the toughest bosses aren’t always the strongest ones, at least in terms of lore.
Pillar Stance can be a great way to counter these attacks, and when timed correctly will greatly weaken Lang-Li-Gunh-Baw. Keep an eye on stamina, as holding the position at the top of the Pillar Stance for too long will cause the Destined One to fall.
5 Gore-Eye Daoist
Prevents Damage From Blood-Pool Ground Ability
The Gore-Eye Daoist is an optional miniboss players can find in Chapter Two after passing through the gates in the Drunken Boar side quest. Although not a major boss, it is worth seeking out the Gore-Eye Daoist to defeat him as doing so will grant a very powerful Spirit.
The Pillar Stance is by far the most effective of the three stances to use against this boss, since most of his attacks consist of creating dark energy pools of blood on the floor, which sap the player’s health. Pillar Stance can avoid these attacks, while dealing a powerful counter attack in exchange.
4 Black Loong
Can Be Countered And Hit From Range
Black Loong is one of the more challenging bosses in Chapter Two, and can be very frustrating to deal with for players who don’t have the right strategy. Though his attacks are quite slow, Black Loong makes use of Shock damage to create devastating attacks which can be hard to avoid.

As a result, players will need to spend much of the fight at a distance as they evade his ground-level shockwaves. While the Pillar Stance will not prevent Shock damage, it will enable players to spring counter attacks from a further distance than the other two stances, which is crucial for defeating Black Loong.
3 Yellow-Wind Sage
Long-Ranged Attacks Are Crucial To Counter The Sage’s Agility
The Yellow-Wind Sage is one of the most difficult and frustrating bosses for most players at the end of Chapter Two. This difficult boss uses a range of different attacks and spells which neutrilize many of the player’s best abilities.
Due to the high amount of dodges and evasion required, the Pillar Stance will be most effective for closing the distance, and can also help players to avoid some of the Yellow-Wind Sage’s close-range attacks. The key to this fight is mobility, but the shorter range of the Smash Stance makes it less ideal for this particular fight.
2 Monk from the Sea
Can Be Easily Defeated With Pillar And Pluck Attack Combination
Monk from the Sea is a Yaoguai Chief players can encounter near Temple Entrance in Chapter Three. While not the most difficult boss fight in the game by any means, it can be an awkward one for players who are not prepared.

The best way to utilize Pillar Stance to defeat Monk from the Sea is in combination with attacking Duplicates from the Pluck of Many spell. When upgraded, the Duplicates will also deliver heavy attacks at the same time when a heavy combo is landed. Using Pillar Stance will ensure that the attacks deal the maximum possible damage together.
1 Venom Daoist
A Tricky Opponent With Ranged Attacks
The Venom Daoist is a difficult boss which players will have to defeat twice during Chapter Four. Both times, players will need to avoid a range of Poison attacks, which require lots of movement and agility, as well as Anti-Miasma Powder.
The Venom Doaist like to make leaping attacks from range, with a short window of opportunity to counter attack afterwards. Like most bosses who follow this pattern of attack, Pillar Stance offers the most fluid counter-attacking options to the player.
