‘Full Speed’ Lands Seson 2 as NASCAR Partners With Words + Pictures
NASCAR Studios and Words + Pictures have partnered to form Full Speed Entertainment, a new production partnership that will develop and produce racing documentaries, series, special events studio shows and podcasts.
One of the banner’s first projects will be Season 2 of the NASCAR docuseries “Full Speed,” Variety has learned. The new season is set to debut on Netflix in 2025.
“I couldn’t be more excited to be expanding our NASCAR partnership with Full Speed Entertainment,” says Connor Schell, CEO and founder of Words + Pictures. “The first season of Full Speed was a really rewarding project for our company, and it was a thrill to work side-by-side with NASCAR Studios every step of the way. The opportunity to collaborate with them and bring audiences more great racing content opens a wealth of possibilities we can’t wait to get working on.”
“Full Speed” executive producer and longtime NASCAR collaborator Tally Hair will serve as the general manager of Full Speed Entertainment.
“It’s such a natural partnership for NASCAR Studios and for me personally,” says John Dahl, NASCAR’s vice president of content. “I have so much respect and appreciation for Connor. We’ve had a great working relationship and friendship going back to the creation of ESPN Films and 30 for 30, and I’m excited about all the possibilities we can explore in this new chapter.”
Schell and Peter Chernin founded Words + Pictures in 2021. The company’s other documentary and docuseries credits include “Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story,” “Giannis: The Marvelous Journey,” “Super League: The War for Football” and “Full Court Press.”
Earlier this year, NASCAR signed on with CAA for representation to bolster NASCAR Studios; the partnership was “created to develop strategic relationships across its existing IP in film, television, music, and podcasts, and grow the brand with diverse new talent.”
